Calm your nerves before you speak
Our wrist wearable helps calm public-speaking nerves through targeted non-invasive neurostimulation.
No drugs, no side effects.
Giving a speech...
naturally triggers the fight or flight response; sweaty palms, racing heart and shaky hands can make it harder to perform your best-even when you are well prepared.
Our device is designed to help reduce these physical stress responses, allowing you to feel calmer and more focused while speaking.
It doesn’t replace preparation. You still need to know your material, practice your delivery and build confidence through repetition.
About Us
We use gentle neurostimulation to help reduce nervousness during stressful situations
Public speaking is one of the most common sources of stress for students. Even practicing a speech can feel overwhelming. Stress can also cause mental blocks, making it harder to recall information you already know.
When stress kicks in, your body’s fight or flight response can interfere with focus and memory. Our non-invasive and drug-free device is designed to gently reduce this response, helping you stay calm and perform closer to your true ability.
While our startup was founded in Silicon Valley, our team has spread across the country and remains connected virtually. We are now testing the effectiveness of our device and seeking college speech students to participate in our study.
How you can help
We are currently looking for at least 25 students to help us test our device. As a participant, you will receive the device and a brief training session (about 15 minutes) one week before your scheduled class presentation.
You will use the device during practice sessions and if helpful, wear it while delivering your presentation. Afterward, you’ll return the device and share your feedback about the experience.
As a thank-you for your time, all participants will receive a $20 gift card, regardless of whether the device was helpful. Our goal is to better understand how many students find the device beneficial.
Testing Procedure
Why Work With Us
1. Learn if our device can help block situational stress
2. Experience being a participant in a product verification study
3. Get compensated for your time and effort
4. Become eligible for round 2 of verification testing
FAQ
Device Description
.* Can you describe the device? Answer – The wrist worn device used in this study is based on technology that has been FDA cleared for other uses. Our study is evaluating its use for reducing stress during public speaking.
* How is the device worn on the wrist? Answer – The device is worn like a wristwatch and secured with a buckle strap
* How strong is the electrical stimulation? Answer – The device has five adjustable intensity levels. Users can increase or decrease the setting to a comfortable level that works for them.
* Can anyone use the device? Answer – Not everyone should use the device. Individuals with implanted electronic medical devices (such as pacemakers or defibrillators) and pregnant individuals should not participate. The skin under the device should be healthy and free from rashes, wounds, or irritations.
Device Technology
* What is neurostimulation? Answer – Neurostimulation is similar to TENS technology. It uses low-level electrical impulses delivered through metal contacts on the wrist. These signals can help reduce the body’s physical stress response in some individuals.
* Will there be any risks to my health? Answer – The device uses technology that has been widely used for decades and is generally considered low risk. While no technology can be guaranteed to be completely risk-free, serious adverse effects are rare. If you experience discomfort or irritation, you should stop using the device and notify the study contact.
Orientation and Device Training
* Where will orientation and training occur? Answer – Training will take place on your campus, most likely in a library conference room
* How long will the orientation and training take? Answer – Training should take approximately 15-20 minutes, with additional time available to answer your questions
* Will I need to sign a release? Answer – Yes. Participants will be asked to sign a consent form, which is standard for studies of this type. Participants must be 18 years or older
Miscellaneous
* Will this affect my grade or relationship with my instructor? Answer – No. Participation is completely voluntary and will not affect grades, evaluations, or relationships with instructors or the school.
* Can I stop participating? Answer – Participation is voluntary. You may withdraw at any time without academic or institutional penalty. If you withdraw, you must return the device. Compensation is provided for completed participation and may be adjusted if participation ends early.
We appreciate your consideration and interest in participating in our study. Round 1 participation is limited and available on a first-come basis.
Participants may be invited to future rounds based on availability and study needs.

Summary
Purpose of the Project
The purpose of this project is to explore usability, comfort, and user experience associated with an early-stage wearable prototype. The information collected will help guide responsible design iteration and future research directions.
⸻
What Participation Involves
If you choose to participate, you may be asked to:
• Interact with a wearable prototype during a short session
• Follow basic usage instructions
• Provide feedback through surveys or discussion
Sessions are designed to be brief and non-invasive.
⸻
Risks & Discomforts
This project is considered minimal risk.
Possible discomforts may include:
• Mild physical discomfort related to wearing a prototype
• Minor distraction or inconvenience
Participants may stop the session or remove the device at any time.
⸻
No Academic Impact
Participation or non-participation will not affect grades, standing or relationships with instructors or institutions. No course credit or evaluation is contingent on participation unless explicitly stated in advance
⸻
Voluntary Participation & Withdrawal
Your participation is entirely voluntary. You may decline to participate or withdraw at any time without academic or institutional penalty. If you withdraw, you will be asked to return the device. Compensation may depend on the extent of participation.
⸻
Data Collection & Privacy
• Data collected focuses on usability and subjective experience
• No diagnostic, clinical, or medical data is collected
• Responses will be handled confidentially and used only for research and product-development purposes
• Results may be summarized in aggregate form without identifying individuals
